Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu today ended his second tenure after a two-year term.
Yakubu, after a 10-year tenure, handed over to the National Commissioner, Agbamuche Mbu, as acting INEC chairman. This was done in a meeting with resident electoral commissioners who are heads of the INEC in each state.
Mbu, is expected to act as INEC chairman until the appointment of another Chairman by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
